Hamilton, Ontario

Established in 1873, The Hamilton Club remains the city's premiere private club. The latest in their ongoing strategy for amenity upgrades was to convert an unused second floor roof space to a multi-function outdoor patio.

As architect for the project; the design was based on dividing the overall space into several seating areas so that if the patio were full you could find a place for a quiet conversation and if the patio were almost empty you would not feel alone in a large space.

A strong link between the existing Sports Bar and the new patio was achieved by multi-sectioned glass door. The overhead pergola provides shade and acts as a frame when viewing the space.

The pergola along with the glass handrail, fireplace and water feature all contain integral accent lighting to make the entire space sparkle at night.
